Para los mexicanos, una de las tradiciones más importantes es el Día de Muertos, dónde se ofrece un tributo a los que ya no están con nosotros. Cada elemento del Altar de Muertos tiene un significado, y ayuda a las ánimas a encontrar su camino a casa. Éste consiste en una construcción simbólica de varios pisos, donde se colocan ofrendas florales, alimentos y bebidas, papel picado, el retrato del difunto, flores de cempasúchil, sal para purificar el alma, copal para alejar a los malos espíritus, agua y velas, que guían a las ánimas para llegar a su hogar.
